First historical inaccuracies spotted in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Only likely to bother train enthusiasts

Eagle eyed Reddit users have been pouring over last week’s Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate trailer with a fine tooth comb and have started spotting some of the game’s first historical inaccuracies over the weekend.

Perhaps the most notable inaccuracy, at least in terms of how many years too early it appears in history is this particular train.

While this train may look normal to you and I, train enthusiasts have been quick to point out that the train has a British Railways logo on it. Syndicate takes place in 1868 London and British Railways was founded over 80 years later in 1949. That doesn’t quite work, does it?

That said, Ubisoft probably have a nice in canon explanation for this. Maybe the person accessing the Animus was particularly strong willed and some of their memories got mixed in with their DNA memory of the past. Conveniently for Ubisoft, this particular video game universe has some nice logic loopholes open to exploitation when they make historical errors.
