Project Ukulele coming to Kickstarter this May

Today at EGX Rezzed, Playtonic showcased the first in-engine screenshots of Project Ukulele.

Speaking at the event, the seven-man team of former Rare veterans said they were blown away by the fan response to their recently announced spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie. They hope to get the community more involved by bringing the title to Kickstarter sometime this May.

It sounds like Project Ukulele will happen regardless of how Playtonic’s crowdfunding efforts pan out, but the team has put a lot of thought into what might happen if it becomes a huge success.

“We’re looking long term with this,” Gavin Price said in the Q&A session. “Every single character you’ll come across in Project Ukulele is being built with their own game in mind in the future.”
