Look, my attitude to April Fools’ Day is that if it looks like bollocks and it sounds like bollocks, then it probably is bollocks. However, after last year’s reveal of the amazing Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon on April Fools’ Day, I’d be hesitant to write this off this tweet from creative director Dean Evans in which a desktop wallpaper shows off the title Blood Dragon III: Vietnam War 2.
Would Ubisoft pull the same trick twice? Yes, I think they would.
Whilst Dean’s picture is mainly there to let us know that there will be a sweet-looking vinyl release of Powerglove’s soundtrack to the original Blood Dragon for Record Store Day later in April (or “stand in a line only to find all the good stuff is already on eBay for 4x its price” day, as I call it) which is great news.
We have absolutely no confirmation as to whether Blood Dragon III is a thing, despite healthy sales of the original and voice actor Michael Biehn’s enthusiasm for a potential franchise.
