DLC accounts for about 15% of Capcom’s game sales

Downloadable content has been a tricky business for Capcom over the years. A quick search of the words “on disc DLC” promptly brings up the Japanese developer’s name before any other company. Even with their struggles of discerning best business practices though, things are starting to look up for the house of Street Fighter and Resident Evil. 

In their most recent quarterly earnings announcement, Capcom reported that DLC is about “15% or 16% of sales in the consumer business.” Additionally, they believe this ratio will continue to grow in 2014.
