Promo materials point to return of XCOM shooter

The black goo is back

2K Games’ XCOM first-person shooter recently found its way back in the news after the publisher was found removing the title’s official website and years-old videos. It’s not entirely clear what’s happened to this game or what state it’s in currently, but based on promotional materials sent to Video Gamer, it’s plausible we’ll find out shortly.

As detailed in the outlet’s video, signs are pointing toward XCOM and/or the rumored revamp of the project named The Bureau. These clues seem rather blatant, but that could be the point to avoid confusion and false hope. Would they really make it this easy, though?

Whatever it is (or isn’t) called, I’m intrigued. Personally, I’d love to see the vision for the XCOM shooter brought to fruition, even if it’s not actually called “XCOM” anywhere in the branding.
