A Linux version is next for Serious Sam 3: BFE

The latest update on Valve’s interest in bringing Left 4 Dead 2 and Steam over to Ubuntu was a spot of bright news for Linux users, and there’s more where that came from. Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced that Serious Sam 3: BFE is headed to Linux later this year.

As far as specific details about this version go, we know that it’ll pack in “all content up to date” for the Mac and Windows releases of SS3. There’s also a screenshot to accompany this news, complete with an obligatory penguin.

For everyone else, Devolver CFO Fork Parker had this to say: “We’re in the process of integrating Steamworks and achievements and the whole shebang, but we can’t get the little f*cker of a penguin to stand still. The last time I had anything ‘Open Sourced’ I was in Thailand, if you catch my drift.”
