The Destiny debut we’ve been waiting for

First look at gameplay

Bungie took its sweet time before revealing the first gameplay of Destiny tonight during Sony’s E3 press conference. Was it worth the wait? That remains to be seen, but I like what was shown.

It came across as a mix of Borderlands and Halo combined with the dynamic online events of Guild Wars 2 — in other words, eff yes. What we saw in tonight’s demonstration — backed by the promises made for online co-op play — has me feeling optimistic. Destiny is coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. And, with a little luck, possibly PC one day too.
