There are loads of friendly faces you can meet while exploring the Bubbly Basin region in Pokopia. One of the many Pokémon who call this region home is Frillish, a special being with two distinct forms.
As you navigate through your special adventure in the Bubbly Basin region, you’ll likely end up reaching a point where you’re wondering how to find and meet this elusive Pokémon. It’s a key one to befriend for storyline progression, so here’s how to get Frillish in Pokopia.

How to get Frillish (female form) in Pokopia

The pink, female form of Frillish is tied to the main storyline and can be found in a cave located near the upper northwest corner of Bubbly Basin. This is one of the trickier Pokémon to unlock, as you’ll only find and meet them here once you reach the right part of the overarching region mission.
To get to this point, start by raising the environment level of Bubbly Basin to three for Popplio’s request. Add new homes, construct buildings, place furniture, complete Pokémon requests, and otherwise work on improving life in this area to increase the level.
Once the environment has reached level three, chat with Popplio, and they’ll offer you a variety of hints for different Pokémon you can work to summon to the region. Choose to seek out “The floaty pink one” to get Frillish to spawn in a nearby cave. You can find this cave at the same location as the Starmie Doll, which is the spot marked on the map below.

How to get Frillish (male form) in Pokopia
There’s also a blue male form of Frillish you can meet. This one is not tied to the main storyline, so you must build a Habitat for them to meet this variant. The male version of Frillish can be met and summoned using either the ocean treasures Habitat or the playing sailor Habitat.
Frillish Habitat in Pokopia
Both the Frillish (female form) and the Frillish (male form) can be spawned using the same two types of Habitats, which are ocean treasures and playing sailor. Frillish (female form) first arrives in the main storyline, though, so you don’t need this Habitat right away to meet them.
Here’s how to set up both types of Habitats that the two Frillish variants like.
- Ocean treasures
- One bottled ship
- One marine chest
- One sparkling jewelry
- Playing sailor
- One big treasure chest
- One ship’s wheel
- One bottled ship
- One wooden crate

If you’re on the hunt for more Bubbly Basin Pokémon, you’ll want to get to work setting up all Bubbly Basin Habitats next. And while you work on completing this massive task, consider checking off some other key missions around this region, like getting Shiny Pearls, unlocking Portal Pods, and cooking all Bubbly Basin recipes.
