Palworld 1.0 has completely revamped breeding, and you can benefit immensely by getting Pals with mutations. Mutation Pals are special variants of the regular versions, and they have better stats with chances of additional skills.
Here’s how you can find mutated Pals to improve your lineup.
How to create mutated Pals in Palworld 1.0
To create mutations, you’ll need to breed two Pals. There will always be a chance for your Pals to create a Mutated Egg if you’re lucky. There’s no sure-shot way to create a Mutated Egg, so it’s a matter of getting lucky.
When you get a Mutated Egg, it will always result in a Mutation Pal with mutations. These Pals will have better stats and unique passive skills (there are five in version 1.0).
So how do you raise the chance of obtaining a mutated egg? You need to use a cake. Palworld has different cakes that you can unlock from Technology. You’ll want to go for an Extravagant Vegetable Egg, which raises the odds of a mutated Pal. Here’s the recipe for preparing an Extravagant Vegetable Cake.

I am unsure what the boosted rate is, but these cakes seem to be the only realistic way to get mutations.
All Mutation skills in Palworld 1.0
Version 1.0 has five different Passive skills. So far, each mutated Pal seems to get just one Passive, and it appears randomly (However, there’s a cake that lets you get a Pal with multiple Passives).
- Babysitter: Enjoy higher egg-laying speed during breeding.
- Immortal: Allows the Pal to regenerate its lost HP.
- Heavily Armored: Raises the Pal’s defense compared to its base version.
- Skymarcher: Get boosted defense and immunity to poison and burn.
- Idiosyncratic: Regenerates HP for you and the Pal.
The Ancient Hatchery, which you get at level 76, is a significant upgrade over the Breeding Farm, but it doesn’t increase your chances of obtaining a mutated Pal. However, I highly recommend unlocking and building the Ancient Hatchery because it’s a quality addition for enjoying the endgame.
