Krieg enjoys being on fire, like always

Krieg the Psycho is the newest playable character in Borderlands 2. Gearbox revealed the new Vault Hunter inspired by the game’s box art and offers players a taste of what it’s like to be a Psycho. You’ll have abilities that you’ve typically only seen from enemies until now, and he has a very aggressive and high risk play style.

Krieg won’t regenerate health like the other characters. You have to kill enemies in order for your health to regenerate fully. It’ll be hard to master, but you’ll pull off very strong attacks if you’re successful.

His action skill focuses on his buzz axe, which you can use as a melee and a ranged weapon that you throw. Skill tree wise, it’s broken down between Bloodlust, Mania, and Hellborn. Bloodlust focuses on stacking accumulation, similar to Gaige’s Anarchy tree. Mania rewards you in different ways as you take damage, like recharge your Buzz Axe Rampage at a faster rate. Even crazier, teammates can damage you, but that’s okay! Getting shot by your teammates increases your powers. Finally, Hellborn is all about setting yourself on fire. Being on fire equals power.

Lastly, Krieg’s down state sees him throwing dynamite at enemies, then exploding them all to get your second wind.

Krieg the Psycho will be released for $9.99 soon, and everyone at the Gearbox panel was given the new character for free.
