Demon’s Souls finally hits PlayStation Network next week

Pure White World Tendency event to celebrate

Despite the game being a few years old at this point, people are still going back to experience Demon’s Souls thanks to a growing interest in Dark Souls and its direct sequel. As such, it will be a particularly welcome addition to PlayStation Network when it arrives on January 8, 2013 for the reasonable price of $19.99.

Having only recently gotten around to picking up a copy of Demon’s Souls and proceeding to spend a literal day beating the darned thing, I was surprised by how lively the online community was from essentially beginning to end. The servers are still very much active, thank goodness. A shout out is in order to the kindhearted person who took down the Blue Dragon for me.

Beyond the intrinsic benefit of summoning other players so you aren’t the singular focus of enemies’ attacks, the online functionality will offer an extra benefit next week. Atlus has plans for another Pure White World Tendency event beginning January 8 and concluding January 14. If you ever got stuck in Demon’s Souls, this will be a good time to try again.
