Hirai: PS Vita sales meet expectations, lag in some areas

Hirai happy with the portable’s performance

Sony CEO Kaz Hirai has stated that PS Vita sales worldwide are pretty much reaching expectations, though they’re falling behind in a few specific regions.

“Worldwide, the Vita is pretty much along where we would expect it to be, maybe trending behind in certain territories,” he told Reuters, just like I said he did.

Hirai declined to note where these specific territories are, so I’m going to suggest that it’s the Ukraine, for no other reason than I don’t get to write “Ukraine” very much. Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine.

I want the PS Vita to do well because then it gets more compelling industry support. Then again, without that strong industry support now, it has less of a chance of doing well. Such is the vicious cycle, and one of the reasons why Sony would do well to put some effort into this one rather than wandering off in search of the next product to hawk. Like usual.
