Tribes: Ascend gets new mode, Technician goodies

Recommended Videos

Tribes: Ascend has just received an update, adding not only a new mode but a slew of new items and upgrades. CTF Blitz is the mode, which will move the flag to a different location each time it’s captured. It will continually move to locations that make it more difficult to capture, so you’ll constantly have to readjust your routes and defensive structures to thrive. It sounds like a great twist on the already-great CTF mode in Ascend.

What has me way more excited is the new Technician items. The technician is by far my most played class so I’m a little giddy about these additional options. There’s a new primary, belt item, turret (!!), and skin, which you can see in action in the above video. I don’t think the primary looks good enough to replace my Thumper, but I am going to be all about the new turret and belt item.

There’s also new announcer voice packs, bug fixes, and more. You can read all the patch notes here.
