Activision reveals new France-centric Call of Duty 3 maps for the 360

Not to be one-upped by yesterday’s World War II-game-related announcement, Activision has announced plans to release a handful of new maps for the ever popular Call of Duty 3 on the Xbox 360.

Set in French locales, there will be six maps in total; one will actually be (gasp) free. The freebie is called “Champs,” and takes players to Port Royal de Champs, France, and will be set in the World War II era. The other five maps (collectively known as “The Valor Pack”) will cost players 800 points and, I’m going out on a limb here, will probably also be set during World War II. Go figure.

The maps will be released sometime after the holiday, but Activision has given no word as to whether these maps will also make their way to the PlayStation 3. Word has it the supreme power of cell processor mega-technology will actually be used to transport you back in time to 1944, draft you immediately, and drop you right onto the shores of Normandy.
