We know you want to get your hands on the 3DS as soon as possible. Thankfully, Nintendo is already working on that. You won’t get your own 3DS until March 27th, but you might be able to paw at a demo unit a bit earlier.
There’s going to be plenty of units out there as Nintendo is working to get 5,000 units into retailers in this launch period. Nintendo announced at a press conference this morning that they will also continue their newer trend of taking mobile units out into the streets. Nintendo says that they want one million people to play the 3DS before launch. I think they’ll be fine on that.
I keep telling people that seeing is believing. I was already sold on the 3DS, but the first time I saw it with my own eyes, with Mario and friends popping out of the screen, it really hit home. Nintendo knows that getting these demo units out there is going to make a big difference.
