Nintendo Download: Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

The Wii U has a bit of eShop life this week with Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, which looks all sorts of cute. It's also getting a Citizens of Earth demo and Axelay, one of my personal favorite SNES shoot-'em-ups. The 3DS ...

Sin and Punishment 2 and Pandora's Tower come out next month for Wii U in Japan

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and Pandora's Tower are two of my favorite Wii games, and now they're coming to the Wii U eShop. As per Nintendo's YouTube channel they will both be arriving next month in Japan -- the former has a March 25 date, with the latter coming earlier on March 4. Both games support the Classic Controller, in case you were wondering.

Nintendo Download: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

I hope you aren't too excited for the Wii U eShop, because all it's getting is Blek, Breath of Fire, and Paparazzi. Ubisoft is still having that sale for a few more days. Yep, that's it. The 3DS has a killer week yet again th...

Nintendo Download: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate demo

The Wii U eShop is pretty much dead this week outside of the Majora's Mask Hyrule Warriors DLC. Long live the 3DS! But seriously, all you're getting is Dolphin Up, Puzzle Monkeys, Tri-Strip, Dig Dug, Mappy-Land,&nbs...

Nintendo has 'no comment' on third-party Wii games for the Wii U eShop

Nintendo recently started selling full Wii games on the Wii U eShop, leaving only the GameCube's library off the list of Nintendo's past home console titles that you can play (officially) on the system. Other than faster load...

This damn Morph Ball double jump in Metroid Prime

Turns out I'm rustier at Metroid Prime than I thought. I had long forgotten about this tunnel sequence in the fiery Magmoor Caverns. It's sure giving me hell. In order to reach the (entirely optional) ledge above, you have t...

Review: Gunman Clive 2 photo
Review: Gunman Clive 2
by Chris Carter

I don't think anyone, including the game's creator, expected Gunman Clive to be such a massive hit. As an homage to retro platformers it was a joy to play, and the ridiculously cheap base price made it easy to take the plunge.

Gunman Clive 2 delivers pretty much everything you'd want out of a sequel, even if it doesn't push the envelope.

Nintendo Download: Gunman Clive 2

The Wii U eShop is getting more exciting today with the release of Metroid Prime Trilogy for $9.99. I still have my lovely hard copy safe with the rest of my Metroid collection, but considering how rare it is, I'm g...

Badland is coming to consoles with a Game of the Year edition photo
Badland is coming to consoles with a Game of the Year edition
by Chris Carter

Badland is still one of my favorite iOS games to date, and it looks like it's coming to the Wii U eShop, Xbox One, Vita, PC, PS3, and PS4. Developer Frogmind Games is crafting a new Game of the Year version for the console, which adds in 100 solo levels and 100 co-op stages. There's no set date yet but we can likely expect it in 2015.

Some of you may scoff at the "Game of the Year" notion, but many mobile sites legitimately awarded the game with that honor in 2013. It's definitely worth checking out, as co-op worked great, even on an iPad.

Nintendo Download: Citizens of Earth

The headliner this week is definitely Citizens of Earth on the Wii U eShop. Brittany didn't think it was the second coming of EarthBound, but there were some redeeming qualities -- maybe it's best to wait on the fence fo...

Nintendo Download: 3D After Burner II

On the Wii U, we have Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight on the Virtual Console. Nintendo calls this an "NES classic," but I beg to differ. Also on the Wii U eShop, there's Electroic Super Joy: Groove City, Family Tennis SP...

Nintendo adds a number of Virtual Console games to its online store

When I want to buy a digital game or redeem a code online for a Sony or Microsoft system, it's dead simple. I love how quickly I can punch in codes I may have obtained from a contest or a friend while I'm on the go, then have...

Nintendo Download: Mega Man Battle Network 2

It's not a huge day for Nintendo consoles in terms of the eShop, but I'll take it. On the Wii U we're getting Mega Man Battle Network 2, Maze, Wipeout 3, and Chariot. The latter is a fun little co-op game that can also be pla...

Death, taxes, and the Nintendo Download update are always inevitable. Nintendo waits for no holiday -- Christmas, New Year's -- it doesn't matter, they are going to update the eShop on Thursday. Sadly today isn't all that gre...
