Square Enix has announced some of the talent which will be lending their voices to the localization of new Parasite Eve sequel, The 3rd Birthday. Yvonne Strahovski, star of NBC’s geek-favorite Chuck and voice of Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect 2 will be providing the voice for Aya Brea. Jensen Ackles, from the series Supernatural, will be playing Kyle Madigan.
I don’t typically approve of the practice of hiring voice talent from a pool of visual arts performers. There’s a wealth of very talented people who work very, very hard solely as voice actors who might be less marketable but offer so much more in terms of skill and talent due to their focus. I like both of these actors, but I like them as television actors, not for their voices. If they do a great job, then I suppose I’ll have nothing to complain about. Here’s hoping.
The 3rd Birthday will release for PSP on March 29th in North America.
