Publishers Izanagi Games and NIS America announced that the intriguing and dramatic shmup Yurukill: The Calumniation Games has been delayed in all territories, and will no longer meet its previously announced release dates.

The delay of a little over a month will allow developer G.Rev to fine-tune the title a little further, ensuring that the weird-looking release makes the very best of impressions when it arrives on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch platforms. As a brand new IP, it obviously behooves the developer/publisher to hit the ground running, especially for a title with so esoteric a premise.

As we have previously reported, Yurukill: The Calumniation Games is an anime-inspired title that blends the social deduction of a Danganronpa with pulse-pounding bullet-hell gameplay. The wild plot sees criminals and their victims thrown together in order to survive a violent battle-to-the-death, presided over by a mysterious masked woman known only as “Binko.” Written by Homura Kawamoto of Kakegurui fame, players can expect a twisted narrative of drama, anarchy, and rebellion.
