Yuji Horii says next Dragon Quest game will be a ‘weighty’ title

Joke’s on us if the game is just super heavy

If you’ve been clamoring for more Dragon Quest, only to be teased with mobile games and adventures out of your reach, sit back and relax — it’s all smooth sailing from here on out. At least, I hope. Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii has divulged to VJump that the next Dragon Quest won’t be headed to a smartphone near you, and will be “more of a weighty title.”

Horii explains his reasoning behind making Dragon Quest games for smartphones, which basically boils down to the fact that everyone’s playing them and that’s what people have time for. That may be true (and profitable) but I’m waiting on some more hot slime action. If I had to guess, we’ll probably end up seeing a 3DS Dragon Quest in the near future. And I’m totally fine with that.

Good news, Dragon Quest fans! [Kotaku]
