Yeah, I could go for another good Call of Cthulhu game

What are the odds we’ll make it off Darkwater Island?

Those first two character-less images of Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu weren’t exactly illuminating, but today’s screenshots offer more insight into the investigation-driven role-playing game.

What are we looking into, exactly? As a private investigator living in Boston in the 1920s, we’ll try to uncover what happened to a woman, Sarah Hawkins, and her family. They have (err, “had”; they’re all dead now) a manor on Darkwater Island and, oh boy, this isn’t going to end well for anyone.

There’s promise of “psychological horror and stealth mechanics,” as well as the looming threat that Cthulhu is preparing for its “awakening.” I like the way they’re approaching this adaptation, so far.
