Xbox.com recently went under the knife only to come back with a few aesthetic changes. One such change was the transfer of Xbox Originals — the downloadable Xbox games for use on Xbox 360 — to Microsoft’s new Games on Demand service, which offers full 360 titles as downloads.
The switch was noticed by GamesIndustry.biz, who reminds us that Xbox Originals is indeed going to die, and not just in the branding sense. We had a nice little discussion going in the comments when the news first broke, but I’ve sort of moved on since then.
I suppose the real news here is that Microsoft will be leaving what Originals we have up for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, which is what I originally thought was the plan, but it’s good to see the situation not blow up further.
