Xbox One won’t require multiple Gold accounts per console

Introducing the Home Gold program

A bit more positive news has come out of Microsoft’s camp today. Xbox outlined the details of its Home Gold program, and it’ll ultimately result in decreased costs for households that keep several Xbox Live Gold accounts on a single console.

On Xbox 360, Gold is granted only to the gamertag that paid for the subscription. Under the new program, every account that’s created on an Xbox One will be given the premium status if just one of them has Gold. This means that everyone will be able to use their own gamertag for the likes of multiplayer gaming and entertainment applications.

Microsoft has stated that the intent behind this change is to make your gamertag feel like your personalized account. There will no longer be the need to share access for a different person to utilize the features of Gold. I’m sure a fair number of people will save some cash with this new policy.
