A common complaint of the videogame industry is that it feels like a never-ending stream of sequels. Microsoft seems to be taking steps to change this perception.

Microsoft has announced that in the first year of the Xbox One, it will have 15 exclusive titles. While some of these will undoubtedly be the likes of Halo and Forza, it was also said that eight of these games will be new franchises.

It’s not surprising that Microsoft isn’t giving up on its tried and true franchises, but it’s refreshing to hear that it’s investing in some new IPs.
