Xbox One records games in 720p at 30 frames per second

And, worry not, your avatar will transfer over

Microsoft has collaborated with IGN to do an Ask Me Anything concerning the Xbox One because it’s come to that. In it, someone — I’m guessing former Destructoid editor Maurice Tan — wondered if it’ll be possible to earn separate Xbox 360 and Xbox One Achievements for the same game (it will be). Funny how that’s the kind of question that gets through.

Corporate VP Marc Whitten did divulge a bit more about game footage recording on the platform. The Game DVR captures in 720p at 30 frames per second, which is a good thing to know going in. He also promises that gamerpics have been upgraded from 64×64 to a full 1080p, allowing “full-body HD gamerpics” using your Xbox avatar. Glad that’s settled.
