Xbox boss: We have just as much in store for gamescom as E3

Microsoft looking to capitalize

Everyone knows that E3 is the crème de la crème of shows for publishers. They want to put their best foot forward, as it’s the biggest event of the year for them. That’s especially true for platform-holders like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

That’s why it’s surprising that for all that Xbox is sure to have in Los Angeles, it’s going to have just as much at the German-based convention. Xbox head Phil Spencer tweeted this morning “We should have as much new content at gamescom as we will at E3.”

Microsoft’s taken strides in recent years to have more of a presence at gamescom, a show that’s usually dominated by Sony. It was there last August that Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced to be an Xbox exclusive. With Sony stepping back this year, Microsoft looks poised to be the company that makes the most headlines out of the world’s largest video game show.
