Black Friday was nice to Microsoft. Really nice. The company says that they’ve just closed the biggest week in the history of Xbox, with more than 960,000 consoles sold during the week of Black Friday. Some 800,000 of those systems were sold within one 24-hour period. That’s especially impressive when you consider that the system is in the seventh year of its life cycle.
Kinect also did rather well during Black Friday week, with more than 750,000 sensors moved via both bundles or stand-alone sales.
Many people I know gifted Xbox 360 systems this holiday. Friends and family consider me a source for gaming advice, and all the calls asking if the Xbox 360 was a good buy were answered with a “Hell yes!”
Nice work, Microsoft.
