Xbox 360 gets an anti-piracy update

Recommended Videos

Were you a naughty little boy who stole Halo: Reach or Call of Duty? Microsoft knows, and it’s very disappointed in you.

A new update has hit the Xbox 360 to bolster its piracy protection, and it’s mostly geared towards dirty copies of Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops and Halo: Reach. Players will no longer be able to run these copies, and their accounts will more than likely be flagged for a ban.

Make one wonder why people persist with “back up” versions of Xbox 360 games. Microsoft seems able to kill them at will, like a terrorist who’s put a remote-control bomb in your heart.

Still, we live in a world where people brick their PS3s in a desperate effort to thieve games, so I shouldn’t be surprised.
