XBLA this week: Bust-A-Move, Military Madness, and more

Ever notice how an increasing number of new Xbox LIVE Arcade games have decided to randomly feature Avatars, usually to serve no actual purpose whatsoever? Yeah, so I’m not alone then. Good news if you enjoy seeing your virtual self constantly, because two of this week’s XBLA games are perfect for you.

Puzzle Bobble, Bust-A-Move, “that game with those dinosaurs where they don’t jump” — whatever you want to call it, it’s coming to LIVE Arcade this week. Bust-A-Move Live! seems to be another standard classic game turned XBLA remake with new online multiplayer. Personally, I’m just glad they didn’t use the creepy baby box art again.

Speaking of older games that go by two different names, Hudson Soft’s Military Madness: Nectaris is the second title due out on Wednesday. If you like turn-based strategy games, especially when they’re set up on a hex grid, you will want to demo this game. It may not be my cup of tea, but it is nice to see some variety.

Finally, the third game for this week is Football Genius – The Ultimate Quiz. Touting 3,500 trivia questions and visual puzzles, this game is exactly what the title implies. I would make a joke at Samit’s expense here, but not even he likes the sport.

All three games will run you 800 Microsoft Points each. What’s it going to be this week?
