The upcoming sports game REMATCH is making quite an impression with the latest beta, and it will be getting a launch on multiple platforms.
This raises a big question about whether the game will have a crossplay feature, which can be a great thing to have, as it allows you to play with and against your friends together without having to worry about what platforms you will use.
REMATCH crossplay feature explained
REMATCH will be launching globally on June 19, and it will follow the same date on all available platforms. It will have crossplay from day one across every device, which makes it a handy addition. This information has been confirmed by Sloclap directly via the game’s official X account.
The crossplay support, however, will be available at the full launch. If you want to try out the beta, you can play on both PC and consoles. The game is only going to launch on the current-gen consoles, so it’s bad news if you’re still on old-gen.
While the beta doesn’t have crossplay, PC Game Pass users can matchmake with those using Xbox consoles. The matchmaking will be much more open once the full release takes place later in June. Both console and PC players will be able to join the same matchmaking pool (unless they choose to disable crossplay from the in-game settings).
Will REMATCH have cross-progression?
As of writing, there has been no mention of cross-progression in REMATCH. If you want to play the game on multiple platforms, you’ll need to own multiple copies. Similarly, all your in-game progression on a given platform will be locked to it.
Cross-progression could eventually make its way to the game, but I am putting that on my expectations. Thanks to the crossplay, however, you can always lobby up and take on the world with your buddies without caring about the platforms that you all will be using.
