Exploring the Fortnite island is a lot more dangerous than usual during the 2026 installment of the Fortnitemares event, as there are a couple of menacing foes lurking around, waiting to give you a good jump scare. One such character is Chica from Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Some members of the Five Nights at Freddy’s crew are fairly easy to find and watch out for, while others can pop up all around the island, which means you may be having a tough time tracking them down. If this character is giving you trouble, here’s where to find Chica from Five Nights at Freddy’s in Fortnite.

How to find Chica in Fortnite
Different from most other Five Nights at Freddy’s characters, Chica doesn’t have a singular fixed spawn location on the Fortnite island. Surprisingly, she also never spawns at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the location you’d expect her to be at.
Instead, Chica pops up fairly randomly around the entire island. She is guaranteed to appear in every round, but alternates between a variety of possible spawn spots, which means there are lots of different areas where you can encounter her.
Chica is a mini boss rather than a main one, which unfortunately means she’s not marked with the special skull boss icon on the map. She could be hanging out in the room right next to you or lurking behind a door you’re about to open, and there’d be no way to know until you run right into her.
The only thing you can watch out for while exploring is footsteps. As you get closer to her, she might move around a bit, which causes footsteps to pop up as she does. They look the same as they do for any other enemy, but she does freeze in place a lot, so watching for a strange pattern may help you determine if she’s nearby.

- Inside the main garage building at Chopped Shop.
- Wandering around the greenhouse building located near the northeast end of Shaken Sanctuary.

- Inside the room on your left at the large central building at Golden Grove.
If you’re looking for more to do after tracking down this dangerous animatronic, there’s plenty left to discover in Fortnitemares. Next, you might consider smashing Pumpkin Chests to get a Sprite, using a Flusher to block Geno from listening to The Order’s message, and getting a Dumpster Dive Sprite.
