BO7 is looking pretty trippy judging by its reveal trailer, teasing a campaign full of mind tricks and manipulation as Black Ops hero David Mason takes on a new, highly advanced enemy in this Black Ops 2 sequel taking place in the year 2035. This means semi-futuristic tech and weaponry will be at the forefront of the new game, a big departure from the early 1990s setting of Black Ops 6.

Talking about and hyping up the new CoD is always fun, but after that it always comes down to when we can play it and schedule time off from work or school to grind out camos and Prestige levels along with whatever else the Zombies team has cooked up.

Here’s what we know about when you can play the newest Call of Duty in 2025.

Black Ops 7 possible release date

As of right now, CoD: BO7’s release date is unknown. But as has been the case for the past 20 years (almost), you can safely bet it will release in fall 2025 and most likely at the end of October or beginning of November.

Taking a peek at the 2025 calendar, the most likely release dates for BO7 are Oct. 24, Oct. 31, Nov. 7, or Nov. 14. This is just an educated guess, but an official release date is likely to be revealed by Activision in the summer, and the wait probably is not much longer.

Some time in the summer of 2025, BO7 will have a reveal event of some kind. In previous years, that has been Call of Duty: Next, a showcase of all things CoD where Activision recruits streamers and content creators to come in and play the new game while making announcements for it, Warzone, and all things CoD.

In the past couple of years, CoD Next has taken place in early September, which means we should expect that time period to see what’s coming this year. We should get a release date some time even before that, potentially in the coming weeks.

Season five of BO6, which will include the final BO6 Zombies map, is set to launch around Aug. 7, so it may not be until after that date that Activision decides to kick BO7 marketing into full gear. It’s since been confirmed that BO7 will be getting a world premiere at gamescom Opening Night Live on Aug. 19, so we may get more info then.

If there’s another CoD Next this year, expect multiplayer gameplay, information about BO7 Zombies, and whatever else is coming to Warzone and other titles like CoD Mobile over the next year. Stay tuned, operators.
