The heat is on…
Well spank my ass and slap on the Factor 30, it’s another weekend and another Whatcha Been Playing? You find yer boy Moyse melting in the midst of another UK heatwave, the second of such in the past six weeks. My fridge is filled with nothing but water, sugar-free soda, and this weird-smelling spray that cools you down. Imagine if it was just liquid nitrogen… I’d get my Jason X on.
Going out and about is a little risky at the moment, especially for my aged goth-ass flesh, so I will likely be spending much of the weekend cooped up indoors, staying cool with Tango ice lollies (other brands are available) and doing my very best to get on top of a truly horrendous bout of Bad Brains, (not the D.C. band). The weekend is here, and I’m very happy to see you again. I hope that you have a safe and restful couple of days, and that you’re able to create at least one tubular highlight for your good selves x
The Juri is in
While ill health, (in both body and brain), has kept my engine firmly in the lower gears, I have found a little motivation in all of the exciting fighting game news that rolled out of Evo 2022. Peak of these pulse-pounding headlines was, of course, the debuting trailer for my main squeeze Juri, who is headed to Street Fighter 6 next year. I love her new look, and I’m really excited to check out her revamped playstyle for myself — hopefully, sooner rather than later.
In regards to games I’ve actually played, I’m currently picking my way through the doom and gloom of Team17’s upcoming Soulslike Thymesia, which launches next week on August 19. I am currently unable to reveal any of my thoughts on these tough-as-nails Gothic tales, but be sure to look out for my review in the coming days.
But now, ’tis time to get to the weekend. I hope that the next couple of days bring you lots of happiness and fun times, be they spent with games, movies, or adventures with friends and family. Whatever you’re getting up to, please be sure to jump into the comments below and let us all know Whatcha Been Playing? The last couple of weeks have been very successful for this here weekly get-together, and I hope that we can keep the community train a-rollin’. Thanks for stopping in, friends!
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
