Good morning and good weekend to you, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? I hope it’s been a fine seven days since we last hooked up, and here’s to a happy and restful weekend to you, and hopefully a migraine-free weekend for me. My three-day weekend was interrupted by a brutal headache, perhaps brought on by this wild heatwave that has hit many of our countries. Phew. Still, it’s Saturday — or, as I like to call it, “The Day of Mechanical Happiness” — and whatever you are up to this weekend, I hope you have a great one. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it, and I wholly appreciate you.

I’ve barely been able to pull myself away from TiGames’ excellently furry Metroidvania F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch. I understand that it’s both a mid-tier title and an unproven IP, which can cause trepidation, but it is truly one of my favorite games of the year, and if you’re a fan of Metroidvania — or just slickly made action adventures, I implore you to check it out. It looks fab, it plays great, and the screenshots do not do its brilliant design and superbly shiny visuals justice. Oh, I’ve also stepped into the ooky-spooky world of The Medium on PS5, so watch out for a brief port report soon. Two new releases from yer boy! Can you believe it?

Anywhoo, that’s me, now let’s hear all about you. Before you get stuck into your weekend, electric slide into the comments and share with us the games that you’re (hopefully) enjoying right now. Whether it’s a new release such as WarioWare: Get it Together! or Life is Strange: True Colors, or if you’re just rolling through some of that cursed, seemingly never-ending backlog — share your good times in Whatcha Been Playing? We love hearing from you each and every week!

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
