We tried to play the Army of Two: the 40th Day demo

Earlier this afternoon, Nick Chester and I gave the Army of Two: the 40th Day demo a spin. We didn’t finish it — two deaths, the lack of guitar support, and the constant wrangling with the cover mechanic combined to frustrate us enough to quit.

But the experience wasn’t without its share of laughs. At one point during the demo we found ourselves stuck in an elevator. Nick asked me, “What, is this Mass Effect or something?” I had missed a message telling me to “upgrade” my weapons, thus the game refused to open the doors. Until I noticed the hint again, we spent our time in the ironclad moving box attempting to fist-bump each other.

In fact, we spent a little too much time dancing around and attempting expressing our bro-love for one another.

If you didn’t guess, this is the Xbox 360 version of the demo. It’s available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace right now, free of charge. You’ll need a pal to play with though, unless you feel like playing with someone random.

What are you thoughts about the demo? Digging it? Not digging it?
