Over 40 theaters in the US will livestream Sony’s E3 press conference

Over the years, the big press conferences at E3 have evolved from the long and boring business presentations to the large crowd-pleasers (or disasters) that we see today. More and more, the folks running these events are upping the ante to see who can win over the audience. Now, with more eyes on the publishers than ever before, Sony is taking things to a whole new level by bringing the experience of E3 to theaters.

In an unprecedented move, Sony has announced plans to broadcast its E3 press conference in over 40 theaters across the US. In addition to the live cast, audience goers will also see a post-show hosted by Geoff Keighley, featuring interviews with Sony developers and exclusive video of upcoming titles. Lastly, people in attendance will also go home with a surprise.

Again, this is for US audiences only, so international fans will likely have to stick with livestreams at home. Tickets for this event are free, so if there’s a showing in your area, and if you’re curious to see the spectacle on the big screen, then by all means sign up.

What do you think about this, fans? Is this something you’d be interested in going to?
