Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 injected a bit of Destiny 2 in its Resurgence game mode with the Data Heist public event. This event allows players to fight over a temporary mission to hack a system and earn its rewards before the enemies in the same match can.

Warzone 2.0 Data Heist public event, explained

Season 2 brought lots of goodies for Warzone 2.0 players, but one of the most unique is a brand-new event. Taking place seemingly for the duration of the season, the Warzone 2.0 Data Heist public event lets players tackle some hacking objectives.

In every match of Resurgence on Ashika Island, there are a few uplink stations that appear all at once. These stations offer players rewards and an intense challenge that only a few select squads will be able to reap the benefits of. Here’s what you need to know to dominate this public event.

The Warzone 2.0 Data Heist public event is available in every single match of Resurgence on Ashika Island. It is exclusive to this new game mode in Season 2 and begins after the second circle starts to collapse.

When this happens, up to three uplink stations appear across the map. Players have to head to these dotted circles to begin the hacking process. Once you get there, you’ll be able to start hacking the uplink station. Simply stand in the selected area around the laptop for it to progress.

It takes a considerable amount of time to complete an uplink station, during which you are likely to be under attack. Other players can and likely will try to interrupt your hacking attempts. They can directly stop you using the DDOS tactical equipment or simply shoot at you.

In addition, you have to worry about NPC enemies at the same time. While you are in the midst of hacking the uplink station, Shadow Company enemies will appear and fight you. Defeating them will speed up the overall hacking process, but leave you further vulnerable, too.

The goal is to survive long enough to complete the hacking process at the uplink station and earn its rewards.

Data Heist event rewards

Completing one of the Data Heist public events will reward you with a slew of helpful items. Players are guaranteed to get experience for their account level, cash for the current match, and a randomly chosen tactical equipment item.

In addition, if you complete two or more uplink stations in the same match, you’ll get the above rewards again plus a random kill streak or Advanced UAV. These are impressive items that can turn the tides of battle in your favor on Ashika Island.

The unfortunate part is that there are usually only up to three uplink stations per match. Getting one is going to be tough, considering there can be a dozen squads in a single Resurgence Quads match, but hacking two or even all three is a tall order for even the best teams.
