Warner Bros. Seattle studios hit with lay-offs

The videogame industry really is a strange one. Even though it gets bigger and bigger every year (even surpassing both the film and music industries), it sometimes feels like we’re talking about studio closings and lay-offs almost every day. Well, you can now add Warner Bros. Seattle studios to the increasing list of companies taking hits.

Monolith Productions, Snowblind Studios, and Surreal Software are all facing an unknown amount of lay-offs after Warner Bros. is “shifting business imperatives,” the company told Joystiq. “WB Games Seattle has made staff reductions. The group will continue to remain an integral part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.” This news comes as another hit to Warner Bros. Seattle, as last November the same studios were hit with pink slips. Best of luck to all those affected. It really saddens me every time this happens.
