Valkyria Chronicles 2 on PSP so it can come out quicker

When Valkyria Chronicles 2 was announced, its cult following was pleased. When Valkyria Chronicles 2 was revealed to be a PSP game, its cult following was less pleased. Many hold out for another PS3 game, but the game’s producer has explained that if this game were on the black box o’ Blu-ray, you wouldn’t see it for years. 

Shuntaro Tanaka estimates that a console-based sequel would take three years to complete. The PSP release is simply a matter of time — it’s quicker to make a smaller game, so that’s why the series has gone portable. Here I thought it was because the last one sold too poorly to justify a full-blown PS3 sequel.
