You know what words are magical to me? “Puzzle RPG”. Puzzle Quest has forever left me wanting another game that successfully blends the puzzle and RPG elements to make a deliciously addictive hybrid, and I wonder if this just might be that game. Called Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, it’s the latest entry in the good old Might & Magic series and will be released for the Nintendo DS in August of this year.

According to the press release, the game will alternate between exploration and turn based puzzle battles. I like the way the screens look, and that description makes me REALLY want this. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more about it, but I’m going to be keeping a close eye on this one. Please be good!

UBISOFT® CREATES NEW MIGHT & MAGIC® EXPERIENCE FOR NINTENDO DS PLAYERS

Might & Magic® Clash of Heroes® to Launch Worldwide in August 2009

SAN FRANCISCO – May 13, 2009 – Today Ubisoft® announced that it will launch a new title in the Might & Magic universe. Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, a puzzle RPG that was developed by Capybara Games, creators of award-winning handheld and mobile games, will be available on Nintendo DSTM and it will be released in August 2009.

Through five unique and epic quests, players will alternate exploration and turn-based puzzle battles in the game to save the world of Ashan from demonic chaos. Might & Magic Clash of Heroes also adopts a brand new manga-style art design that is perfectly suited to Nintendo DS. In a world populated by knights, elves, wizards, necromancers and demons, gamers can manage their own hero, customize their army and lead campaigns in the mythic Might & Magic world.

“Our fans have always appreciated the depth and richness of the Might & Magic universe,” said Romain de Waubert de Genlis, senior producer at Ubisoft.  “The teams at Ubisoft and Capybara were inspired to extend that universe in a unique way onto the DS, creating an engaging new game experience.”

Created for Might & Magic fans, while also attracting new audiences, Might & Magic Clash of Heroes can be played in solo mode or shared with a friend in two-player peer-versus-peer mode.
