Trial of Kinect Sports Rivals launching with Xbox One

Wake racing mode broken out to give players a taste

Rare’s Kinect Sports Rivals won’t be ready to release when the Xbox One console launches next month, but early adopters are still going to get a chance to see a bit of what is to come, as a trial version is set to launch along side the console on November 22.

The trial, which has been given the moniker Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason, will feature one of the full title’s six activities, wake racing, along with monthly multiplayer challenges through March 2014 and exclusive in-game awards to unlock through competition. Those who download the trial in its first week will also receive special bonuses, including an in-game wet suit and wake racer.

Previously announced as a launch title for Xbox One, Kinect Sports Rivals was delayed to allow Rare more development time. Hopefully that will make Rivals feel like more than a pale, “me too” addition to the motion-controlled landscape.
