There have been some dumb ideas for party games on the consoles over the years. Fuzion Frenzy is a fine example. Hell, Rayman Raving Rabbids was a concept so dumb it came back around to brilliant somehow.

Somehow, I doubt THQ’s upcoming Truth or Lies is going to be as lucky. It’s a new party game with a unique hook. The game consists of players being asked thought-provoking answers, according to the press release. I guess you’re supposed to guess if people are telling the truth because, with a USB microphone, the game will test stress levels in the person’s voice and determine if they’re lying.

The problem is that it won’t actually work. This crap never does. All it’ll be able to tell is whether or not you’re stressed. And then someone will answer honestly, the game will say they’re lying and the rest of the players will agree with the game because, you know, SCIENCE! And the next thing you know, a family is torn asunder. These are dangerous games we’re playing people!
