It seems like Sony is trying to entice players to purchase some games digitally with a new, unannounced feature on the PlayStation Store.

Some gamers browsing PSN’s offerings found a new “Wallet Credit” feature on specific games, offering up to $10 in bonus money to stuff in a Wallet that can then be used on future purchases on the store.

Gamers found that games like The Blood of Dawnwalker, Star Wars: Zero Company, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale, and others have the offer, with purchasers getting the $10 in wallet credit right after purchasing said titles.

It’s unclear how new this feature is, or how widespread it is on a global scale, but I personally don’t have the option on any of the games mentioned above. I would, however, not be surprised to see this new enticement on upcoming big games, like Grand Theft Auto 6, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and the like.

For now, I’d say that if you’re looking to pre-order any upcoming PS5 games, maybe hold off until you have the Wallet Credit offer available. At the very least, wait for an official announcement from Sony, because as of now, nothing has been revealed or confirmed just yet.

Another user on X/Twitter posted a screenshot of a PlayStation Store banner featuring the new offer, which is given “when you buy select PlayStation titles.”

Does this make you more or less likely to purchase games on PSN? I’m personally a digital gamer these days, so it’s an added bonus for me on games I may be looking to pick up, and it could even sway others into purchasing a game they’re on the fence about. But I know that this will inevitably be controversial given Sony’s stance on physical games, so I’m curious about people’s opinions on the matter.
