EA Sports’ first Wii hockey game is called NHL Slapshot, and since it comes with a hockey stick peripheral and uses motion controls, they thought it would be a good idea to explain the controls — simple though they are — in a short video. Above, you can watch senior producer Joe Nickolls demonstrate motions for shooting and checking (you press A to pass, and movement is controlled by the Nunchuk’s analog stick).
It certainly looks like it could be fun, although I think I’ll stick with NHL 11. Then again, you can play as Wayne Gretzky only in NHL Slapshot, which will be out for the Wii on September 7th.
