It has recently come to the attention of Microsoft that some of Xbox LIVE’s shadier members are using a hack to gain precious Achievement points for Gears of War 2.
The perpetrators? They’re going to have their gamerscores reset and will be labeled as cheaters in their XBL profiles; here’s an example of what happens when you find a stranger in the alps screw with the big M.
All I have to say to the cheaters is this: way to ruin the fun of Achievements, guys. You’re getting what you fully deserve. The points should be about extending a game’s length, not your e-peen.
I view Achievements as a tool to help me get more value out of my games, and in some rare cases make me tackle gameplay in new, creative ways. Obviously, side-stepping this process flat-out defeats the whole purpose, and is something only an assclown would do.
