Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is just one of those games that deserved a sequel. It was a solid first effort — even if it didn’t live up to crazy-high expectations — and, given the chance, a follow-up could really take the concept to the next level.

As fate would have it, much of the core team who developed the game was kicked to the curb prior to its retail launch, and then The Force Unleashed went on to be commercially successful to the point where a sequel was in fact warranted. As such, one is being made right now. Talk about embarrassing.

This of course had many people wondering who exactly would be putting in the hours and ultimately creating The Force Unleashed II. For starters, it’s being developed internally. Joystiq found this out, in addition to finding out that LucasArts is hiring for “unannounced products.”

Studio president Darrell Rodriguez says the “internal team here in San Francisco will be focused on the game in addition to other development partners.” Nope, we don’t know who these partners are either. As for the unannounced business, could it be Star Wars Legends or Battlefront III?
