The fall game rush is over, enjoy your lazy December

It’s pretty chill this month

It’s been a crazy past few months. A new Mikami game hit, as did another Disney Infinity title, a new Skylanders, two Smash Bros. games, more open-world games than you can shake a stick at, a brand new rhythm title from Harmonix, another Shantae game, Bayonetta 2, and a lot more. It was…insane in terms of a workload for myself and my review crew, but we covered pretty much everything under the sun and had many sleepless nights as a result.

December is a bit more relaxed. You’re basically looking at The Crew, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, Captain Toad, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and Guilty Gear Xrd in terms of major releases. There are a few smaller titles like Dead State and Secret Ponchos, as well as a few re-releases and ports like Ultimate NES Remix and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes on the PC, but that’s about it.

I think I’m going to continue to play lots of Smash Bros. on Wii U, beat Birth By Sleep (one of my personal favorites) in Kingdom Hearts 2.5D, and check out Guilty Gear. Other than that, it’ll be a relaxing month compared to the past few months from hell. The caveat of course is that playing games, even on deadlines and under duress is pretty damn awesome.

Are you taking the month off, so to speak, catching up on your backlog, or diving into some new December releases regardless?
