Who was making what now?

Hey remember when Microsoft announced during their E3 2012 conference that they teamed up with Gore Verbinski to make a Kinect game called Matter? Anyone? No? Yeah, well it’s been canceled.

“Microsoft Studios is no longer pursuing this title,” a company Microsoft representative told Joystiq. “We have no further details to share at this time.”

Microsoft teamed up with the Pirates of the Caribbean movie director to make a game about a Portal 2 Core fighting future flying boxes with arms. Or something. I don’t know. The trailer was weird then, and it’s still weird now.

It’s odd a Kinect game was canceled. I mean, I thought the Kinect was supposed to be the future of gaming! It’s almost as if the Kinect doesn’t … Matter anymore.
