Well, not real real samurai. More like the empty shells of former samurai.
Before games like Samurai Warriors and Sengoku Basara were a big deal, the samurai that inspired them were. To celebrate the history behind these games, Tokyo Game Show has teamed up with Koei and Capcom to create an exhibit featuring not only these and other samurai-based games, but real samurai artifacts.
Armor and items related to the nine most popular warlords — including Uesugi Kenshin, Naoe Kanetsugu, Oda Nobunaga, and Date Masamune — will be there for us to gawk at. Even Japanese cities Ueda and Shiraishi pitched in on the exhibit, bringing along warriors Sanada Yukimura and Katakura Kojuro.
This exhibit will be open throughout Tokyo Game Show’s dates, in Exhibit Hall 2. We’ll make it over to the exhibit for the sengoku samurai game fans out there.
