Learn how wheels work in Susuyai Shrine

Susuyai Shrine is a Shrine many players can find early in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s located southwest of Lookout Landing, so getting there is incredibly easy. If you’re having trouble finding it, travel to Jiosin Shrine and move directly west.

This Shrine will teach you how to use the new Zonai wheels, which will prove instrumental if you want to make goofy inventions beyond your wildest dreams. Fortunately, the challenges inside shouldn’t give you too much trouble. Here’s what you need to do.

Area one of Susuyai Shrine

When you first enter, you’ll see some makeshift devices drive across a small expanse of empty space. This exists to show you the main mechanic we’re learning here: wheels. These rudimentary vehicles won’t hurt you. However, if you get caught by one of these devices, you could get pushed off a cliff. Grab the chest off the top of the middle vehicle and run to the other side.

Afterwards, you’ll need to cross a circular cylinder rotating towards you. Walking over this is more trouble than its worth, but fortunately, you’ll see some deactivated wheels and a blank platform attached to two of them. Attach the remaining two wheels to the platform using Ultrahand, aim your makeshift vehicle towards the rotating floor, and whack the wheels using your weapon to ride across.

Fortunately, even an imprecisely-made vehicle will gain enough speed to make the journey. Alternatively, if you don’t feel like building things for yourself, just grab one of the active vehicles behind you and ride that across the rotating floor instead. Remember, hitting the wheels turns them on and off.

Open the gate

Afterwards, you’ll see a closed gate next to a circular lever. If you push the lever, the gate will open, but it will close the minute you stop pushing. To handle this, detach one of the wheels from the vehicle you used to get across. Next, stick it on a lever and hit it to activate it.

This will keep the lever in perpetual motion, indefinitely keeping the gate open. Walk through to the other side, where you’ll face your final puzzle.

Cross the pit in Susuyai Shrine

In this last room, you’ll see a large chasm in front of you. Fortunately, there’s a platform attached to a rail. To your left, you will also see two deactivated wheels. To solve this conundrum, simply pick up a wheel and place it on top of the rails. Next, attach the wheel to the platform and jump aboard. Aim your bow at the wheel you just placed and let an arrow fly to activate it. That’s all you have to do!

Alternatively, if you feel like saving an arrow, you can activate the wheel before you pick it up and place it. However, you’ll risk either making the platform take off before you can jump on or falling trying to place the wheel. It’s perfectly doable, but using an arrow to activate the wheel saves a bit of trouble.

Once you cross the other side, you’ll reach the end of Susuyai Shrine!
