Street Fighter V will have a simultaneous international launch

Hit the streets running

Street Fighter producers Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano confirmed this weekend during Ani-Com in Hong Kong that Street Fighter V will be receiving a simultaneous worldwide release. This is great news for fighting game players who won’t have to watch competitors in other regions get months worth of practice in while they twiddle their thumbs waiting for their chance to fight the streets this time.

The PC port is supposed to be launched at the same time as the PS4 version and capable of cross-play, so the entire population of fighting game players worldwide will be fighting at the same time in the same pool of players. It’s either gonna be one hell of a brawl, or one hell of a fire when all of Capcom’s servers spontaneously combust under the strain. Given how things have gone with Street Fighter V‘s beta so far, I might buy some marshmallows for the occasion, just in case.
